Furniture Designs

Contemporary bedroom furniture is simple. It usually features platform beds and flat panel drawer fronts. Look for a basic white or black laminate piece to save money. If you do go with a wood grain, keep it sophisticated with a dark finish like espresso. Then the focus will be on the wood grand such as a walnut pattern.

Even though a contemporary bedroom uses plain furniture and neutral colors, it should still have dramatic elements in it. You need at least one sculptural element in the space. This could be a funky plastic disc chandelier. You could even hang baskets on the wall for inexpensive artwork. A contemporary bedroom doesn’t use a lot of accessories. This is why the functional items that you bring into the space, such as table lamps, need to have over sized paper shades to add a lot of interest into the room.
